Any person can become a member of the Alliance and benefit from its services. Membership is free and open to all. Donations to offset the cost of processing and maintaining memberships are encouraged. A donation of $30 per application is sufficient for this offset.

• Funeral price survey: collection of price lists, extraction and publication of price data
• Monitoring the website and email discussion list of the national Funeral
Consumers Alliance for developments of interest to consumers in the Finger Lakes region
• Monitoring the progress of state legislation that affects funeral consumers; alerting the Board of Directors to needed action
• Contacting legislators about funeral consumer issues
• Newsletter preparation: writing articles, editing, layout
• Placing Alliance brochures in public sites, senior living facilities, etc.
• Participation in policy and activity decisions by serving on the Board of Directors

• Website maintenance

To apply for membership, complete an Enrollment Form* for each person.

*The enrollment form is in Portable Document Format (*.pdf) and requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view or download and print it. If you have difficulty downloading the form, ask the Alliance office (info@imsfca.org) to send the required number of copies to you.

Please note: Each person who may incur responsibility for the member's funeral arrangements should be given a copy of the member's funeral planning form and should be familiar with the plans and instructions shown on the form. A copy of the completed form should also be kept in an accessible location with the member's other personal documents. If a member makes advance arrangements with a funeral home, a copy of the completed planning form should be placed there.
