The Funeral Consumers Alliance of the Finger Lake
s, Inc. (FCAFL) is a nonprofit tax-exempt organization that promotes advance planning for funeral needs. It educates and protects consumers, informing them about funeral practices and costs, choices, and legal rights at the end of life. The Alliance serves Tompkins County and adjacent areas in central New York.

Founded in 1958 as the Ithaca Memorial Society, the FCAFL is one of more than 100 organizations across North America affiliated with the Funeral Consumers Alliance, Inc.

 

Membership is free and open to all. Members share a commitment to preplanning, but not prepayment, of simple and affordable funeral and memorial arrangements. Participating funeral directors help carry out the plans of FCAFL members, usually at discounted prices.
