The Funeral Consumers Alliance of the Finger Lakes, Inc. (FCAFL) is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that provides funeral information and promotes advance planning for funeral needs. It informs people about funeral choices, practices, and costs, and about the rights of funeral consumers. The Alliance is based in Ithaca and serves the southern Finger Lakes region of New York State.

The Alliance’s 2011 funeral price survey has data for Aurora, Candor, Cortland, Dryden, Dundee, Elmira, Groton, Homer, Horseheads, Ithaca, Lansing, Marathon, McGraw, Montour Falls, Moravia, Newark Valley, Odessa, Ovid, Owego, Spencer, Trumansburg, Watkins Glen, and Whitney Point.

Founded in 1958 as the Ithaca Memorial Society, the FCAFL is one of nearly 100 organizations across North America affiliated with the Funeral Consumers Alliance, Inc.

Membership is free and open to all. Members share a commitment to preplanning, but not prepayment, of simple and affordable funeral and memorial arrangements..
